Business Travel Tips #2
By Gary Mooney
Business is now truly worldwide which means companies hoping to improve their market share will need to travel more if they want to find new customers; the Internet has ensured that even tiny companies can have a customer base that is truly global! However, anyone who has spent a great deal of their time traveling for their business will tell you just how tiring it can be. Business travel tips are useful to regular travelers by ensuring certain routines are carried out every time they travel to reduce the possibility of wasted trips.
One situation that you will not be able to avoid at some point if you take enough trips is that of lost luggage which can be a real problem if your baggage contains information relevant to your trip. So, wherever possible, pack as much as you can into your carry on luggage.
This means that even if your main luggage is lost your trip does not have to be wasted; your meeting can still take place despite any inconvenience that has been caused. When you do pack the main luggage, the clothes you won’t be carrying on as hand luggage, make sure to pack only what you need for this trip.
If you only take enough business clothes for the trip and then all that is left is some casual wear for the evenings, just two pairs of shoes, one casual, and one pair should be enough. The remaining items to pack will be toilet essentials and any other work related documents that aren’t important.
A little business travel tip that flight attendants use when they pack is to roll up their clothes, then place them into cylinders which compresses the clothing and reduces the number of creases. The last thing you want on a business trip is having clothes laundered because something was spilt on them, this can easily be avoided by wearing dark cloths which are able to absorb stains more easily.
Another little trick that experienced travelers use is to carry hand and face wipes with them which can freshen your appearance in seconds without the need of a washroom. Remember before you leave to charge up your cell phone and other electronic devices, look in to getting some form of mobile or wireless internet access package so that you can work on the move.
If you make effective use of your day time ‘downtime’ while you are traveling, then you may be able to spend evenings exploring the areas once when you arrive at your business trip destination. These tips make sure that no matter what happens when you travel on business you will be able to continue with your plans and will not be left wondering what to do next.
Business travel does not have to be all work and by using the business travel tips shown here, there should be time for rest and relaxation too.
