Business Travel Tips #3
By Gary Mooney
Many people believe that business travel is not as necessary for companies these days but that is not the case as more trips are taken than ever before; despite improvements in global communication systems. This is putting an increasing strain on business travelers who often become stressed and fatigued at the constant need to be in another part of the world. Seasoned travelers may already be aware of the business travel tips below but if you are a new member of the business travelers club then you may find the information very useful.
One thing that you will not be able to avoid at some point if you take enough trips is that of lost luggage which can be a real problem if your baggage contains information relevant to your trip. To reduce the chance of a wasted journey, always carry anything that is relevant to your trip in your hand carried luggage.
This means that even if your main luggage is lost your trip does not have to be wasted; your meeting can still take place despite any inconvenience that has been caused. The key business travel tip is to pack light and only include the minimum you will need in your main luggage.
For simplicity just work out how many days you will be at your destination and pack accordingly, remembering to pack a few items of casual wear plus just enough pieces of footwear to last; this would be one pair for work and another pair for play. All that is left once this is done is to include your toiletries and other business documentation which you might use.
A good way to save space and possibly take a smaller bag plus reduce any creases is to roll clothing up which takes up less room and a business travel tip well worth noting. If you carry dark clothing with you it can help if anything is spilt on them as it is harder to see stains on dark clothing.
If you are working to a tight schedule and the inevitable delay happens then you want to know you can attend a meeting at a moments notice and the way to freshen up is by using those hand and face wipes that come in travel packs. If you only intend to be away for a couple of days, a normal charge for a cell phone and other electronic equipment may be enough but if the trip is longer you may need to take chargers with you for convenience.
Nothing is worse than sitting in a hotel room at night working when you could be out exploring the city you are in so make use of the flight time and try to get important preparation work done then. Regular business travelers learn to make these preparations before every trip to ensure the business side of it goes without a hitch.
Business trips do not have to be boring and stressful if you apply the business travel tips in this article as they will allow you the opportunity to enjoy your free time even more.
